Released by K-Tel Canada in 1972, 20 Power Hits Volume II delivered a punchy cross-section of radio staples spanning rock, soul, and pop. The lightning bolt cover and “Original Hits / Original Stars” tagline captured the label’s signature flair for mass-market appeal.
Canadian content included Joey Gregorash’s “Jodie” and Steel River’s “Southbound Train,” both charting nationally, alongside Paul Anka and The Bells, who brought homegrown pop to international audiences. U.S. soul legends like Isaac Hayes, Sly Stone, and The Staple Singers added depth and groove, while Santana and Redbone brought Latin rock and funk fusion to the mix.
