ABC's debut album, released in 1982, is a lush synth-pop record from the Sheffield group led by Martin Fry, blending new wave electronics with orchestral arrangements courtesy of Anne Dudley and the Lexicon of Love Orchestra. The record sits somewhere between disco, pop, and new wave, with a cinematic sweep that was pretty distinctive for its time. "The Look of Love" and "Poison Arrow" were both major singles from the album and remain the tracks most people know.
