Released on 21 March 1977, Let There Be Rock is AC/DC’s fourth studio album and a defining moment in their early discography. It was the last album to feature bassist Mark Evans, and it captured the raw, unfiltered energy of the band’s live sound.

The title track “Let There Be Rock” is a thunderous celebration of rock ’n’ roll history, while “Whole Lotta Rosie” became one of AC/DC’s most enduring anthems, known for its explosive riffs and cheeky storytelling. The album also includes “Bad Boy Boogie” and “Hell Ain’t a Bad Place to Be,” showcasing Bon Scott’s rebellious charisma and Angus Young’s electrifying guitar work.

Produced by Harry Vanda and George Young, the album was recorded quickly and with minimal overdubs, emphasizing the band’s gritty, no-frills approach. Let There Be Rock helped solidify AC/DC’s reputation as one of the hardest-hitting rock bands of the era and laid the groundwork for their global rise.
