Description Christmas was recorded in 1985 during the early career of Welsh treble Aled Jones, whose voice had gained international recognition following his performance of “Walking in the Air” from The Snowman. This double‑LP features Jones accompanied by the BBC Welsh Chorus under the direction of John Hugh Thomas, with organist Huw Tregelles Williams. The album was produced for the Canadian market by Quality Special Products in coordination with 10 Records Ltd., and includes a wide selection of traditional carols, classical pieces, and sacred works.

The repertoire spans English, Welsh, French, Czech, and Latin traditions, with arrangements by David Willcocks, Elizabeth Poston, Martin Shaw, and others. The selections include both well‑known seasonal standards and lesser‑recorded pieces such as “St. Joseph’s Carol,” “Christmas Star,” and “Jesus Christ the Apple Tree.” Classical works by Handel, Bach, Franck, Schubert, and Dupré are also featured, reflecting the album’s blend of liturgical and festive material.
