Arthur Lyman's *Yellow Bird* came out in 1961 on Hi Fi Records, with this copy pressed in Canada on the Sparton label. Lyman was a Hawaiian vibraphonist who had played with Martin Denny before leading his own group, and he became one of the key figures in the exotica movement of the late 1950s and early 1960s. The album is a collection of lush, tropical instrumental arrangements built around vibraphone, percussion, and bird calls, very much in the style that defined the genre.
