Here's a pressing that doesn't surface nearly as often as it should - Bad Company's "Run With The Pack" on the Canadian Swan Song label from 1976. This was the band's third studio effort and marked a subtle but significant shift in their sound, with Paul Rodgers pushing his vocals into more soulful territory while maintaining that signature Bad Company swagger. The album caught them at an interesting crossroads, balancing their blues-rock foundation with the arena rock sensibilities that would define the late '70s. "Young Blood" and the title track showcase the band firing on all cylinders, with Mick Ralphs delivering some of his most memorable guitar work outside of Mott the Hoople.

The Canadian Swan Song pressing is particularly noteworthy for collectors familiar with the label's pressing variations. While Led Zeppelin's vanity label is better known for Zeppelin releases, their Bad Company catalog often received exceptional attention in the Canadian market, with this pressing maintaining the full dynamic range that sometimes got compressed in other territories. The Canadian plant did solid work during this period, and you can hear it in the separation between Simon Kirke's thunderous drums and Boz Burrell's bass lines. For Bad Company completists or anyone seeking a lesser-seen pressing of an underrated album in their catalog, this Canadian Swan Song edition represents both the band's creative peak and superior pressing standards of the era.
