Beausoleil is a Louisiana Cajun band led by fiddler and vocalist Michael Doucet, known for bringing traditional Cajun music to wider audiences while blending it with zydeco, blues, and country influences. Bayou Cadillac came out in 1989 on Stony Plain Records and captures the band in fine form, mixing accordion-driven Cajun dance tunes with swamp blues and folk-rooted material. It's a solid representation of what made Beausoleil one of the most respected acts in the genre during that era.
