Tracklist
Side A Re: Person I Knew – Polka Dots and Moonbeams – I Fall in Love Too Easily – Stairway to the Stars
Side B If You Could See Me Now – It Might As Well Be Spring – In Love In Vain – Very Early
Recorded in May 1962, Moon Beams marked Bill Evans’ return to the studio following the tragic loss of bassist Scott LaFaro. With Chuck Israels joining on bass and Paul Motian on drums, the trio delivers a deeply introspective set of ballads, rich in emotional nuance and lyrical beauty.
This original U.S. mono pressing on Riverside features the classic deep groove blue label and is revered by collectors for its warm analog fidelity. “Polka Dots and Moonbeams” and “Very Early” highlight Evans’ delicate touch and harmonic sophistication.
