Billy Eckstine's "Rendezvous" is a vocal jazz and easy listening album released on MGM Records, featuring the Pittsburgh-born baritone who was one of the most popular ballad singers of the postwar era. Eckstine built his reputation leading a groundbreaking bebop big band in the 1940s before transitioning into a successful career as a solo singer, and this record showcases his smooth, deep voice in the romantic ballad style that made him a major crossover star with both jazz and mainstream pop audiences.
