Here's a Canadian Warner Bros. pressing of Black Sabbath's third masterpiece, the album that truly cemented their role as the godfathers of heavy metal. Master of Reality finds the Birmingham quartet at their most focused and crushing, with Tony Iommi's downtuned guitars creating that signature sludgy tone that would influence generations of metal bands. This is the album that gave us "Children of the Grave," "Into the Void," and the iconic "Sweet Leaf" - Sabbath's ode to marijuana that opens with Ozzy's unmistakable coughing fit. The band had hit their stride by 1971, following up Paranoid with an even heavier, more deliberate sound that stripped away any remaining blues influences in favor of pure metallic weight.
