Blondie's fifth studio album, released in 1980 on Chrysalis Records, finds the New York new wave band stretching well beyond their punk-pop roots into an eclectic mix of styles including disco, reggae, jazz, and orchestrated pop. The record is notable for producing two number-one singles in "The Tide Is High," a reggae-inflected cover of a John Holt song, and "Rapture," which was among the first tracks featuring rap to reach the top of the US charts.
