Blue Öyster Cult's eighth studio album, released in 1983, finds the New York hard rock band leaning into a more polished, commercially oriented sound compared to their earlier work. The record includes "Shooting Shark," a moody, mid-tempo track co-written with Patti Smith, and "Take Me Away," which received some radio play at the time. It sits in that early-80s territory where arena rock and AOR production values were starting to dominate the genre.
