Here's a Canadian pressing of Bob Seger's "Smokin' O.P.'s" from 1980, an album that often gets overlooked in discussions of Seger's catalog but deserves serious consideration from collectors. This release came at a fascinating crossroads in Seger's career – he'd just conquered the world with "Night Moves" and "Stranger in Town," but instead of rushing into another original album, he took a creative detour to pay homage to his musical roots. The album is essentially Seger's love letter to the songs that shaped him, featuring his muscular interpretations of tracks by Tim Hardin, The Bee Gees, Little Richard, and others, all filtered through that unmistakable Silver Bullet Band sound.
