Bobby Bland's *Call On Me* came out in 1973 on Bluesway Records, a subsidiary of ABC. Bland was a Houston-bred vocalist who built his career on a smooth blend of blues, soul, and gospel influences, and this record sits comfortably in that territory with a warm, polished sound typical of his early seventies work. The title track "Call On Me" and "This Time I'm Gone for Good" were both charted singles from the album.
