Numbers is a 1975 studio album from British singer-songwriter Cat Stevens, released on A&M Records. A concept album built around a philosophical and spiritual narrative, it marked a departure from the more straightforward folk rock of his earlier work, incorporating orchestral arrangements and a more abstract, mystical approach. It came out during a transitional period in Stevens' career, shortly before his conversion to Islam and retirement from music, and while it did not produce the widely recognized hits of albums like Tea for the Tillerman or Teaser and the Firecat, it remains an interesting document of where he was heading artistically at the time.
