Released in 1973, Los Cochinos is Cheech & Chong’s third comedy album, blending satirical sketches, absurd characters, and counterculture humor. The title, slang for “The Pigs,” reflects their irreverent take on authority and social norms.
Produced by Lou Adler, the album features surreal audio vignettes and iconic characters like Pedro and Man. The Canadian pressing retains the original gatefold cover art with Cheech & Chong peering out from a vintage car window, set against a desert backdrop.
Los Cochinos won the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Recording in 1974 and remains a cult classic in spoken-word comedy.
