Chuck Berry's "The London Chuck Berry Sessions" came out in 1972 on Chess Records, recorded live in London with a backing band that included Klaus Voormann and Carl Radle. The album captures Berry in a loose, energetic setting, running through his classic rock and roll catalog with a funkier, more spontaneous feel than his studio work. It produced the unexpected novelty hit "My Ding-a-Ling," which became his only number one single, along with a ragged but spirited version of "Reelin' and Rockin'."
