The Bosses is a 1974 collaboration between pianist and bandleader Count Basie and blues shouter Big Joe Turner, released on Norman Granz's Pablo Records. The album pairs Turner's powerful Kansas City blues vocals with Basie's swinging orchestra, a pairing that made natural sense given both artists came up in the same scene decades earlier. It captures a relaxed, late-career meeting between two veterans who clearly knew each other's musical language well.
