Dave Matthews (not the rock guitarist) was a Belgian-born vibraphonist and bandleader who recorded this live set at the Five Spot in New York in 1975, released on Muse Records. The album captures his big band in an energetic jazz-funk and fusion setting, blending the full ensemble sound of traditional big band with the electric grooves that were defining jazz in the mid-70s.
