Here's a pressing that serious Motown collectors shouldn't overlook – Diana Ross's self-titled 1976 album, the Canadian Motown issue. This was Ross's seventh solo effort and marked a significant creative period as she continued establishing herself beyond The Supremes, working with producer Richard Perry who had just come off major successes with Nilsson and Ringo Starr. The album showcases Ross's remarkable vocal range across multiple styles, from the disco-funk grooves that were becoming essential to Motown's mid-70s sound to the sophisticated ballad work that remained her calling card.
