Dee Gee Days is a compilation of recordings Dizzy Gillespie made for his own Dee Gee Records label between 1951 and 1952, released by Savoy in 1976. The sessions capture Gillespie in a transitional period, mixing hard bop with novelty vocals and Afro-Cuban rhythms, and feature sidemen including Milt Jackson and John Coltrane on select tracks. "Birks' Works" and "Tin Tin Deo" are among the highlights here, showing Gillespie's range as both a trumpet virtuoso and bandleader during the early 1950s.
