Don Dorsey's Bachbusters, released in 1985 on Telarc, is a synthesizer album presenting arrangements of Johann Sebastian Bach compositions performed entirely on electronic instruments. Dorsey uses the Synclavier and other digital synthesis technology to render pieces like Toccata and Fugue in D Minor and Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in a style reminiscent of Wendy Carlos's pioneering work on Switched-On Bach. The album sits in the electronic classical crossover space that was popular during the 1980s synthesizer boom.
