Doug and the Slugs were a Vancouver-based pop rock band who built a solid following in Canada through the early 1980s. Popaganda, released in 1984 on A&M Records, was their fourth studio album, continuing their blend of hook-driven pop rock with a slightly quirky, keyboard-tinged sound. The band was fronted by Doug Bennett, whose witty, offbeat songwriting gave them a distinct personality within the Canadian rock scene.
