Here's a Canadian Portrait pressing of Eddy Grant's breakthrough album "Killer On The Rampage" from 1983, the record that properly introduced the world to Grant's unique "ringbang" sound. While many know Grant from his earlier days with The Equals and their hit "Baby Come Back," this solo effort showcased his evolution into a pioneering electronic-reggae hybrid that predated much of what we'd later call dancehall and digital reggae. Recording entirely at his own Blue Wave Studios in Barbados, Grant crafted a distinctly Caribbean take on the emerging synth-pop movement, with "Electric Avenue" becoming his signature tune and a staple that still resonates today.
