Eric Clapton's 1974 album 461 Ocean Boulevard was his comeback record following a period of personal struggle, recorded at a house in Golden Beach, Florida. The album marked a shift toward a more relaxed, understated sound compared to his earlier work, drawing on blues, soul, and reggae influences alongside rock. His cover of Bob Marley's "I Shot the Sheriff" became a major hit and helped bring reggae to a wider mainstream audience, while "Willie and the Hand Jive" was another standout track.
