Ernest Tubb's Golden Favorites is a 1973 compilation from MCA Records collecting some of the defining work from Ernest Tubb, one of the founding figures of honky tonk country music. Tubb, known as the Texas Troubadour, was instrumental in shaping the sound of postwar country with his loose, guitar-driven style and plainspoken vocal delivery. The set pulls from his extensive catalog and includes signature tracks like "Walking the Floor Over You" and "Thanks a Lot," giving a solid overview of his contributions to the genre.
