Freddie Mercury's 1984 solo single "Love Kills" was released on CBS as a tie-in to the restored and re-scored version of Fritz Lang's classic 1927 silent film *Metropolis*. Produced by Giorgio Moroder, the track sits firmly in the electronic and synth-pop territory that dominated the mid-1980s, with a polished disco-influenced production style characteristic of Moroder's work during that period. It predates Mercury's debut solo album and stands as one of his earlier ventures outside of Queen.
