This Canadian ATCO pressing of "A Trick of the Tail" represents a fascinating moment in the band's evolution – their first album without Peter Gabriel, with Phil Collins stepping up from behind the kit to handle vocal duties. What many don't realize is that this transitional masterpiece actually marked Genesis at their most musically adventurous, freed from Gabriel's theatrical concepts but not yet fully committed to the pop direction they'd later embrace.
