Genesis released "Spot the Pigeon" as an EP in 1977, featuring three tracks that were recorded during the "Wind & Wuthering" sessions but left off that album: "Match of the Day," "Pigeons," and "Inside and Out." The group was in its classic late-70s lineup with Phil Collins on vocals, Tony Banks on keyboards, Mike Rutherford on bass and guitars, and Steve Hackett having just departed. It sits stylistically between the more song-oriented direction Collins was steering the band toward and the progressive rock sound of their earlier work.
