Here's a proper early Genesis artifact that serious prog collectors understand the importance of - the UK Charisma pressing of Trespass from 1970. This was the band's second album and notably the last to feature guitarist Anthony Phillips, whose intricate fingerpicking and classical influences helped define Genesis's early pastoral sound before Steve Hackett took over. The album captures the band in transition, still finding their footing but already displaying the storytelling ambition and dynamic shifts that would make them prog legends. Phillips's departure after this record due to stage fright changed Genesis's trajectory forever, making this a crucial document of the road not taken.
