Iron Butterfly's *In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida* was originally released in 1968 on ATCO Records and stands as one of the defining albums of late-60s psychedelic hard rock. The San Diego-based band built the record around the sprawling 17-minute title track, which takes up the entire second side and became one of the era's most recognizable pieces of rock music, built on a churning riff, extended organ and drum solos, and a hypnotic groove.
