Jean-Michel Jarre's second studio album, released in 1978, follows up his breakthrough *Oxygène* with another suite of mostly instrumental electronic music built around synthesizers, sequencers, and early electronic textures. The album is structured as a continuous piece divided into eight numbered parts, with "Equinoxe Part 5" becoming one of the better-known tracks from the record. Like its predecessor, it draws on the sequencer-driven Berlin School sound while leaning into a warmer, more melodic sensibility than many of his European contemporaries.
