Jefferson Airplane's fourth studio album, Crown of Creation, came out in 1968 during the peak of the San Francisco psychedelic rock scene. The record shows the band moving toward a slightly harder, more experimental sound while still featuring the vocal interplay between Grace Slick and Marty Balin. The title track and "Lather" are among the standout songs, with the album also including a cover of David Crosby's "Triad." It sits alongside Surrealistic Pillow and After Bathing at Baxter's as a key document of the Airplane's late-sixties output.
