Here's a Canadian pressing of Jennifer Warnes' criminally underrated 1979 album "Shot Through The Heart" on Arista Records. While Warnes is perhaps best known to casual listeners for her later duet work with Joe Cocker on "Up Where We Belong" and her stunning interpretations of Leonard Cohen material, this album showcases her in a different light entirely – as a sophisticated pop-rock interpreter with remarkable vocal range and emotional depth. The album features contributions from some serious West Coast session heavyweights, including members of what would become known as the "Yacht Rock" pantheon, giving these songs a polished, studio-crafted sound that was very much of its time.
