Jethro Tull's 1976 concept album "Too Old to Rock 'N' Roll: Too Young to Die!" follows the story of aging rocker Ray Lomas and was originally conceived as a stage musical. The album finds Ian Anderson and the band blending their signature folk-prog sound with more straightforward rock arrangements, touching on themes of generational identity and cultural obsolescence. It sits in an interesting spot in the Tull catalog, coming between the more ambitious prog works of the early seventies and the harder rock direction the band would explore later in the decade.
