Cover Notes: Released in 1975, this posthumous studio LP was assembled by producer Alan Douglas, who controversially replaced original Experience backing tracks with new session musicians. The album features previously unreleased Hendrix compositions, edited and overdubbed from vault recordings. Highlights include the funk-rock opener “Message to Love” and the psychedelic suite “Captain Coconut.”
