John Hartford's *Mark Twang* came out in 1976 on Flying Fish Records and is a solo acoustic album featuring Hartford accompanying himself on banjo and fiddle while also providing percussion by clattering on a wooden board with his feet. The album is largely instrumental with a loose, conversational feel, drawing on old-time and bluegrass traditions alongside Hartford's own idiosyncratic style. It won the Grammy Award for Best Ethnic or Traditional Recording in 1977.
