Johnny Bears is a Canadian artist who self-released this gospel and folk record, *Amazing Grace*, likely sometime in the latter half of the 20th century. The album falls into the traditional gospel and sacred music space, drawing on folk and country-influenced arrangements rooted in religious themes. Self-released Canadian gospel records like this one often came out of church communities or regional folk scenes, and the title track is one of the most recorded hymns in history. Tenor vocalist from Prince Edward Island, Canada. Began singing as a member of The Brooklyn Trio (1927-1978) which performed regularly throughout Atlantic Canada but never recorded. Bears recorded 2 albums of Gospel/Religious music after The Brooklyn Trio disbanded
