Johnny Clegg & Savuka's "Shadow Man" was released in 1988 on Capitol Records, the third studio album from the South African band fronted by British-born musician Johnny Clegg. The record blends Zulu traditional music with Western rock and pop, a fusion that defined Clegg's work throughout his career with both Savuka and his earlier group Juluka. The album continued the band's international profile during a period when South African music was gaining wider global attention.
