Judas Priest formed in Birmingham, England in 1969 and became one of the defining forces in heavy metal. Known for their twin-guitar attack, leather-and-studs aesthetic, and Rob Halford’s operatic vocals, the band helped shape the genre’s sound and image throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

Released in 1984, Defenders of the Faith followed the success of Screaming for Vengeance and continued the band’s dominance in the metal scene. The album features high-octane anthems like “Freewheel Burning” and “Some Heads Are Gonna Roll,” alongside deeper cuts like “The Sentinel” and “Night Comes Down.”

The Canadian pressing features bilingual label text and Columbia’s red label design, manufactured and distributed by CBS Records Canada.
