Judy Collins' 1980 studio album on Elektra, *Running for My Life* finds the folk singer moving into a softer, more polished pop direction that reflected the sounds of the era. Collins brings her signature clear vocals to a mix of original material and outside compositions, continuing the evolution away from her 1960s folk roots that had been underway throughout the 1970s.
