Kris Kristofferson's 1978 album Easter Island is a country and folk record released on Columbia, arriving during a period when Kristofferson was balancing his songwriting career with his growing profile as a film actor. The album features his characteristically narrative, literary approach to country songwriting, with Kristofferson's understated vocal delivery carrying plainspoken lyrics in the tradition that made him one of Nashville's most respected writers of the early 1970s. It is among his lesser-known solo efforts compared to earlier records like The Silver Tongued Devil and I or Me and Bobby McGee.
