Pres: The Complete Savoy Recordings is a 1976 compilation from Savoy Records collecting tenor saxophonist Lester Young's recordings made for the label during the 1940s and 50s. Young, nicknamed "Pres" by Billie Holiday, was one of the most influential figures in jazz, known for his cool, laid-back tone and melodic approach that stood in contrast to the more aggressive style of his contemporaries. The set documents his small group work and showcases the understated phrasing and harmonic sophistication that made him a foundational influence on the cool jazz movement and generations of saxophonists that followed.
