Level 42 were a British funk-pop group led by bassist Mark King, known for his slap bass technique, and "Lessons in Love" was one of their biggest hits, released in 1986 and included here in extended form on this 1987 Canadian Polydor single or EP release. The track is a smooth, polished slice of mid-80s pop with funk and synth-pop elements that helped bring the band mainstream success on both sides of the Atlantic.
