Jivin' The Vibes is a 1957 compilation from vibraphonist and bandleader Lionel Hampton, released on RCA Camden, drawing from his earlier recordings with his orchestra. Hampton was one of the central figures in swing and jump blues, helping to establish the vibraphone as a lead jazz instrument. The album captures the loose, energetic feel of his big band style, blending swing and boogie-woogie-inflected jazz that defined his work from the 1940s onward.
