Here's a Canadian pressing of Los Lobos' breakthrough major-label debut, "How Will The Wolf Survive?" on Slash Records from 1984. This album marked a pivotal moment when the East L.A. quintet successfully bridged their traditional Mexican folk roots with rock and roll, creating something genuinely unique in the mid-80s musical landscape. Producer T Bone Burnett captured their raw energy perfectly, blending César Rosas' gritty vocals and guitar work with David Hidalgo's multi-instrumental virtuosity and the band's deep understanding of both conjunto and punk aesthetics. The title track became their signature song, while cuts like "Don't Worry Baby" and "A Matter of Time" showcased their ability to make rootsy music that never felt forced or calculated.
