Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" is a 1988 MCA Records compilation drawing from recordings the legendary New Orleans trumpeter and vocalist made during the late 1960s. Armstrong, one of the most influential figures in jazz history, is showcased here in a mellower, pop-accessible mode, with orchestrated arrangements that lean toward easy listening and soul-jazz territory. The title track, originally released in 1967, became one of his signature songs and remains widely recognized, as does the version of "Cabaret" included on the collection.
