Machinations is a 1968 jazz album from American trumpeter Marvin Stamm, released on Verve Records. Stamm was a highly regarded session musician and lead trumpet player who worked extensively with the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra, and this was one of his rare outings as a leader. The record leans into the jazz-funk and soul-jazz sounds that were emerging in the late 1960s, featuring a blend of electric instrumentation alongside more traditional jazz arrangements.
