Here's a fascinating piece of Mickey Gilley history that doesn't turn up often – the 1982 Canadian pressing of "All My Best" on Chadwick Music. This compilation captures Gilley at the height of his crossover success, right when his Pasadena honky-tonk Gilley's Club was drawing massive crowds and inspiring the film "Urban Cowboy." What makes this particular release special is that it represents the Canadian market's take on Gilley's catalog during his most commercially successful period, featuring his trademark piano-driven country sound that bridged traditional honky-tonk with the more polished Nashville production of the early '80s.
