Mr. Mister's debut album, Welcome to the Real World, came out in 1985 on RCA Records. The Los Angeles band played a polished brand of synth-driven pop rock that fit squarely in the mid-80s mainstream, built around layered keyboards, melodic guitar work, and Richard Page's smooth lead vocals. The album produced two number-one singles in "Broken Wings" and "Kyrie," both of which became staples of the era's radio landscape.
